Happy Birthday in Heaven Dad. You have all the family there with you now. Can't believe I have lived half my life without you. I am still trying to do my best and live up to your high standards.

You are always remembered and always loved. You humour, your singing, your intelligence, keen interest in news and politics -that's why I went into journalism-I remember you used to bring in the evening paper every night and hand it to me even as a schoolgirl. Your baking (Douglas was good at that too) and your pride and joy your rose garden. Your sister Cathie said I was "the apple of his eye."
So..one of your Burma poems dad (you loved poetry too and I have inherited all of that from you).

"Still, through chaos,
Works the ancient plan
And two things have altered not
Since first the world began
The beauty of the wild green earth
And the bravery of man."

Love always, Dorothy(Potsy)xx
